Whats In My Bag? Scuba Diving Gear Edition

Waterproof 2.5mm Wetsuit

Let me start by saying, I love this wetsuit! Every detail has been carefully thought out to give divers maximum comfort in the water. My favourite features are the non slip material on the bum area so there is no more slipping off surfaces and the optional thigh pocket to give you a little bit more gear storage.

Tusa Freedom Elite Mask + Snorkel

Masks are such a personal fit, so my recommendation here isn’t to go out and buy this one. My Tusa mask has been really good and is a really comfy mask - for me. Head to your local dive store and get your mask fitted as everyone’s face shape is so different, and what works for one diver might not work for another.

Girls That Scuba Whale Shark Mask Strap

A mask strap is one of my must-have items for diving at any level. It will protect your hair from being pulled and tugged at when taking your mask on and off. This one from Girls That Scuba is so cute, and they have lots of styles to choose from, so go check them out!

Scubapro Tropic 1.5mm Gloves

Gloves are really great to have, especially in colder waters to keep some of your heat in. These 1.5mm gloves are a great balance between warmth and movement so are a really good choice for your first pair. They are also useful to have when descending on a barnacle-encrusted rope or on wreck dives.

Tusa HyFlex Vesna Fins

These fins were my very first diving purchase while I was still doing my open water course in Cairns, Australia. I really like these open-heel fins as the fin and shoe detach so I can easily store them in my backpack or suitcase while travelling. They are super comfy and give me a good amount of movement through the water.

Mares Equator 2mm Boots

These little, slide-on booties are lightweight and quick drying, perfect for diving in the tropics where the water is warmer. They work perfectly well with my fins and they never move around or slide off my feet. I do have a 5mm zip-up pair, but honestly, I just take these on the majority of my diving trips and I have had no issues so far.

Orca D520 Dive Torch

If you are planning to go on any deep, cave, wreck or night dives, chances are you will need a dive torch. I picked up this one which is small, fairly cheap and has a USB rechargeable battery. At 1000 lumens, it has a really strong beam so perfect for looking into all the cracks and crevices.
